What's the latest with the F9?
I've been Facebook-free for a few years now, so apologies if this has been discussed on there, or on a FB live video. I was curious about what's been going on with the F9 lately? It sounded like FFR was going back to the drawing board on the front end design. Has anyone heard any juicy rumors? The SEMA build looked pretty cool, but it seems to have just been tucked away, never to see the light of day again.

More Inquiring Minds Want to Know.....
Any bets if the F9 will make a showing at this years Open House?
Even without the redesigned front end it would still make an interesting devolvement type peek
Let the pontifications begin
Thanks

Hey yall! Looking for an update on the F9! I absolutely love the looks of this component car! I’m trying to save up so I can build one in the next five years, but obviously it needs to come to market first. I’m sure it’d be a risk to bring it to market right now considering the economy, and that may not change for a couple of years. So I guess I’m just looking for a little hope that the F9 will not get shelved permanently. Any insight?

Since no one here seems to have an update on the F9, I went ahead and emailed FFR. Figured I’d share the reply with everyone:
The F9 is in development and we do not have a timeline for when it will be in production or available for purchase/pre-order. You can check out some updates we shred on Facebook live last fall.

As you’ll see in those videos, we have built the first full prototype.. As Dave notes in the videos, after reviewing the current F9 configuration with the engineers, we have decided to do more work on the body shape like revising the nose and wheel wells. We do not have a production start date, kit packlist, options, or pricing available at this time.
Yes, the F9 will be set-up for Ford and Chevy V8 engines as well as the V12LS as shown in our prototype chassis from SEMA the other year. We have not looking into an inline 6 or inline 4. That would require at a minimum sourcing your own engine mounts and headers for you, and making any chassis mods required for that. We also don’t know which driveshaft would be required so you’d need to source that as well.
The wheels are 20” with 285/30ZR20 tires in the front and 325/30ZR20 tires in the rear.
As more info on the F9 becomes available, we’ll continue to share it on our website and social media pages. Stay tuned!

OMG!
Looking at the october video makes me want a kit!!!
This…looks…incredible!
-
Me too! I’m beyond excited for this kit!! I wanted to go a unique direction with the power plant like a Ford barra inline 6 or a Honda f20c (early S2000 motor), but since this will be my first kit car, I’d be nervous to stray from the original design. lol

Hello guys,
Like everyone else, I've been checking in from time to time to see if the F9 is a go or not. I really hope that Dave and the Factory Five team can make it a reailty.
It really looks to be a huge winfall for Factory Five if they can. I've been wanting to get back into the fold, and I would really like to make this my next project.
So much potential in this car. The interior pictures in one of the videos that I saw, look amazing.
I don't know if those are Factory Five's plans for production or someone else's renderings of what could be...
But they looked really good.
I'm looking forward to to hearing some good news in this area soon.
I'll check back in before to long and see where it stands.
Take care everyone. And Happy Building!

Was it mentioned / discussed / prototype shown at the Open House?

It was on display but no new information was given. I did hear that the F9's production may be delayed due to the production and R&D of Factory Five Extreme Trucks and the truck they're making. The F9 is very cool in person though.
Mk4 Roadster, Complete Kit, 302 Carb. Blueprint, T5, IRS, Power Steering, Hydraulic Clutch, Wilwoods, 15" Halibrands, Ordered August 2021, Completion March 2022, First Start 6/22/22, First Drive 6/26/22

I agree. I’ll admit I wasn’t too impressed with the pics and video of it, but saw it today at the open house and it looks much better in real life

Has there been any new info as of yet? Been trying to catch all the Facebook videos and the like but have not caught anything. I believe about a year ago they released the video showing the nose of the car, saying they were not happy with it and it was going into redesign and that could take roughly a year.
I'm holding out for this kit

Looks a bit like a 90's Supra with massive ground effects packages front to back. Same shape. They've been redesigning the front end for quite some time now. Seems like there might be other issues?
