Had a productive couple of days. Yesterday my wife helped me and we dropped the "somewhat new" engine and trans back into the car.

Tip of the day for you, if like most here you're using a HF 2T hoist it doesn't quite have enough reach with the body on the car. Had to make an extension from some 2x2 tubing to extend the boom about 18" or so. However, now the rear of the hoist gets really light when a SBF/Tremec is hanging off the end so to be safe we added some ballast to the rear of it.

All of this worked great until we tried to move it. The two of us were barely strong enough to move it and then it was in very small increments. We managed to get it roughly in position and ended up moving the car during the drop in as it was much easier. From start to finish it only took about an hour to get it dropped in. A good quality leveler is an absolute must.

Today I dropped on the stack EFI on and torqued it down. Installed the fuel lines, power steering pump, PS lines, throttle cable, and valve covers. Under the car installed the transmission support frame, transmission bolts, and driveshaft. Topped off the Tremec with fluid so it's good to go.

Hah..."bitter cold". We had lows at 12 degrees this week. My neighbor is from Lake Jackson, Texas...on the Gulf. He was a hurtin unit this week.

Over the last couple of days buttoned everything up on the new and improved engine and fired it up. Locked out the timing to 20 degrees in the ECU and set the distributor, borrowed my wife's eagle eyes to make sure we got it on the mark. One thing I did was re-clock the distributor to a better orientation with the Borla stacks. Now all of the plug wires are the wrong length so going to redo them this afternoon.

Since I re-clocked the distributor to work better with the Borla stacks I needed to redo the plug wires. Went with these 9mm wires from Ford Racing. I think they're really nice in that they are cut to length and numbered. Got the blue to match the car.

Yeah! I guess it's all in perspective! After daily highs in the low teens and even some single digit nights last week we got above 40 degrees yesterday so I threw the shop doors up and enjoyed the "balmy" temperatures
