    Nut sert tools

I have been searching tool suppliers for some good quality nut sert tools which won't break the bank. But, I thought I'd see what you all are using and recommendations. I'm sure some work better than others, and curious as to favorites. In particular, I am looking for ones that can handle 5/16" inserts.

    Thanks

I use these real simple and relatively inexpensive tools from McMaster. This is the 5/16-inch size. https://www.mcmaster.com/#96349a407/=14toizc. Work great and bullet proof. I have this size and the 10-32 size. Does everything I need.

I made a tool similar to this. I have multiple holes in it for different size nutserts and use it all of the time. A stack of washers with some lithium grease works as a bearing for the bolt to spin and pull the nutsert in. For those nutserts smaller than 1/4" I even use a 12 volt impact driver to draw the nutserts in with this tool.

I followed EdwardBs recommendation and purchased some of these as well. They work great. Highly recommend.

Jay - I made my own... happy to talk to you about it if you'd like. Plus, I can drop it by your house and you can copy it if you want.

    Chris,

I'm always up for a challenge, so watch for a nice weekend and head my way. It's getting cooler out so that may be tough. I dropped the engine in for the final time, and always open to suggestions.

I've used Jay-Cee Sales for many years.

If it is a rivet, rivet nut, thread insert related, they will have it.

Some pics of my home-made version. This worked great to add rivnuts for the seat pans and a few other places where I used fairly large rivnuts.
