Congratulations! Start a build thread and let us watch the fun. Do a complete inventory down to what is supposed to be in each bag of parts. Most of us find it best to leave the parts in the original shipping boxes for easy part retrieval when needed. The inventory list then can be used to identify the box the part should be in. The hardest part of the build is identifying the hardware used to attach the parts. Because of all the different options the kit covers, you will have lots of left over bolts, screws, washers, and such.

Thanks King. Taking the whole day off work, so planning on starting the inventory right away and taking my time.

I've thought about a build thread. I certainly have enjoyed and learned a lot from the multitude of builds I've followed. I just don't know that I'm going to be doing anything that's very different or that hasn't been seen here before. I'll think about it...

If not a thread, take lots of pictures and post in "what did I do to my roadster today". I did not do this and looking back I wished I had. Especially if you deviate from the manual or do any personal touches. Remember the only "dumb" question is the one "NOT ASKED". Good luck with your build and the forum will be here to help spend your money.

I will second what others have said about a thorough inventory. Take your time and keep everything in its original bag and box. You'll be tempted to toss boxes and containers, but don't until all the parts in a particular box are installed. I even went further and marked on the boxes their content. You'll be glad you did. I spent 2 days taking inventory with the help of my son and better half and enjoyed the time spent together.

    Enjoy!

Yeah, I know the inventory is important. BUT........... when's the last time you got 19 boxes of cool car parts and the car??? For me, it was Xmas in April. Those moments are etched in my memory banks forever! And then I had to do the inventory.

    Have fun.

My build log is a record of what I was thinking while building; it's as much for me down the road as it is for others. Even if you don't post it, keep a log & pictures!

    John

P.S. I love reading build logs. It's amazing what you can learn from osmosis.

    P.P.S. Congratulations!

I consider myself a pretty good organizer, so I will be labeling boxes.

My brother is my computer guru and he's setting me up a web site / blog for the build. It's just getting started (read that as "I've done nothing to it yet"), but it's www.Boss427.us.

I know there's no such thing as a Boss 427. But it will be a Boss 351 bored and stroked to a 427, so there ya go.

    15_x_4_boss_427.jpg

    Thanks for the comments.

Have fun trying to get to sleep tonight!!!

    Congrats!!!

I have a parts bin rack. I used that for a lot of storage for medium and small parts. I marked the bins with box number.
