    Came Across These Designs

I was checking out one of my favorite sites today and saw these 2 designs.

The first one is the 2012 Evantra by F & M.
This car is just about perfect other then the wheelbase (100").

I love this design!!, mostly the rear fenders and rear.

    Vman-

    Very sexy rides.

Although the Evantra has a serious sight line problem in the rear view mirror.

Also, both are really very nice in spite of the long wheel base. Seriously nice rides!

    Regards,

    Steve

They are both a bit busy looking, and sort of clunky in the rear.

Not bad, I just like simple and smooth when done right, and these are neither.

Looking at the second one, it seems a good way to keep a 95" wheelbase car from being "cute" appears to be to raise the line that runs from the front wheel, across the door, to the rear tail light.

I was at the Autosport Racing Car Show yesterday and was completely blown away by the Ginetta G60. To me it was one of the most beaustiful cars there with only the Mclaren MP4 and Porsche 918 eclipsing it.

I had my camera with me but unfortunately it developed a fault and the pictures I managed to take before it packed up completely are of poor quality.

They had a small kit car section with around 20 or so cars. Many of which were of the Aerial Atom style including one which was Subaru powered, weighed only 550kg and could be build for £10,000. Unfortunately at this stage my camera had expired.

I guess I should have explained more on the Evantra (black car) on the body lines etc. I guess from what most ppl are saying are not seeing what I am seeing....lol

As far as the MXT (orange car) It's ok, I just put that up for ppl to see what is out there. Has the feel of a Lotus to me.

Getting back to the black car. What I see in my head is this, get rid of all the nooks and crannies everywhere, like on the door vent area and smooth out more. Change the rear venting, again smooth out more. Change the front to a more smooth look and lower the deck in front some. Change the rear deck area to something like the Vantage for a smoother look and visibility.

Maybe, and this is a big maybe, I might play around with it.

You take very good pictures, at least ones which are flattering to the car's strengths.

The side view is a big fail, but has much potential, so I'm going to keep my eye on this brand.

Maybe I'd just change the doors, who thought this looked good? Different - yes. Good - no.

I like their old G12 model best.

All of those are "Meh" to me.

As an aside...While I know the current fad is for center exhausts, I'm sure glad that the transmission will keep one off the 818.

The orange one looks awfully cool. No way it would fit the template. That's why we have such a hard time making any of our designs look that good.

Your efforts would be better served, IMHO, working on putting YOUR design into 3D lol.

That is just a couple of inches short, it is in the ballpark.

A very curious manikin layout under "design + concept" in the link. Either the floor is real thick, or his feet are floating in the air for no reason I can figure. Also he can hardly see over the shoulder/belt-line of the side window.

That is a strange but interesting layout drawing. At first I thought the manikin was carelessly placed in there but it is so specific and detailed. The foot pedals indicate that the foot location IS the design condition. On the other hand, it may be a small (or smaller manikin) and it is always easy to raise the seat for a particular driver's vision preferences.
The LO drawing shows some good detail on front lighting, for anyone who has been entertaining ideas about lower than legal lamps or ignoring the package issues involving front wheel jounce. The LO also shows a nice rear storage area.

    That is a possibility.

Check out under the Technical + Chassis section, the angled inset for seat mounting seems to aid in the overall low profile of the car.

Move the seat forward and you go up more than any other seat I've examined (go back, and you go lower). Might be a trick of perspective though.

I believe the Atom style Subaru based car was the MR3 V-Storm by SDR Sportscars http://www.sdrsportscars.co.uk/home.html

It's an ugly little car that I've seen bouncing around the net for one or 2 years. Not really my cup of tea, I think there's one or 2 threads about it elsewhere from earlier on where us FFR guys were debating if the world needed another ariel atom or Subaru based exo car. Before the design competition started, there was an announcement saying the the 818 was going to be an minimal body exo car which spurred endless controversy about the 818 project here. Most folks here agreed that no one wanted an exo car but rather a full bodied ride as the Subaru EXO thing is already available and very few people seem to care. The Murtaya got more attention around the same time.

I'd sport one though if it were given to me...
