What's involved in centering the wheels in the wheel well? Is it my imagination that the Red SEMA car wheels aren't centered?
The red car does look like the LF wheel is forward, but the white car looks centered. There must be some adjustment there.
The red SEMA car was slapped together (literally in order to make it to the show), and used panels at least 2 generations removed from production. On the pic you provided, the front wheels are turned...
Here's a shot from the SEMA show of the red car. The front looks better here:
Also, the ride height was way too low, resulting in the non centering in back.

From pictures of the frame, there is no adjustment (front-to-rear) of the wheels.
The OEM Subaru front lower control arm is basically fixed. The OEM Subaru rear trailing link is basically fixed. The mounting locations on the frame for said arms/links also appear to be fixed in regard to the length of the car (some are adjustable in relation to the height).
Your wheel alignment will affect this and Caster usually plays a large role in how the front wheels end up in the wheel well.

True, but if you use the alignment settings to position the wheel in the wheelwell then the alignment won't be ideal for actual driving.
If you use proper alignment, then the wheel position is still based on the lower arm/link positions because the alignment settings are based on the relation to those.
Is there an ideal wheel positioning, front to back, relative to the stated, 96 inch wheelbase? If you work off the rear... or work from the front, is there a reference point to the frame that one can start with?
Anyone with a really good fit and look that can provide a dimension? FFR?

I aligned the rear and installed the side pods to center the rear wheels, the front are what they are.
