Sincere thanks and congrats, you have a huge cadre of people to get help and inspiration from. My favorite car in the world (with the exception of my 68 vw bus) is my blue 65 Coupe sitting in the showroom right now. It spent two years at Ford Racing and is now back home. Thanks again and we'll build a great car for you!

Welcome aboard Willy. It's a great build with many challenges that will make you really consider what you want to do with the car. There are many options available and some great vendors here to support you with the necessary bits and pieces. The rest of us will help you spend any money you left in your pockets.
It's never too early to start beefing up your obituary.

    Willy,

Welcome to coupe fun ... this site is a tremendous resource for build questions as well as highly qualified vendors. These cars generate huge amounts of attention, so plan on gas stops taking a little longer as people gather round to ask questions, etc.

    Willy,

Let me put in my congrats too. IMO the Coupe guys and gals are an extremely close knit group of builders and you are in more-than-capable hands in asking them for help. I look forward to watching your build come together.

Somebody get this guy his straightjacket!

Awesome Willy!!! I have to say the community has been great and opened up their garages to me and my wife when we were trying to decide (mine is being picked up by Stewart Monday). If it weren't for this great group of builders we probably wouldn't have jumped in. I'm looking forward to watching your build.

Congratulations on the order! You've got just enough time to read every thread on this and the other site, and to get used to posting pictures to a build blog. Get busy!

Raise your right hand and say after me,

"I Willy (Last Name), do swear/affirm, that upon acceptance of this "Revered Coupe Jacket", will willingly subject myself to all manner of frustration and abrasion that my FFR Type 65 will provide. I further pledge that any and all fellow Coupe builders will have free reign in using the cash available in my wallet as they see fit to improve my build plan. I will not look down upon our fellow Roadster builders, but rather take pity on those not talented enough to build a race car with a roof, So Help Me God!"

    Willy,

It is my pleasure to present you with the "Revered Coupe Jacket", Here's your sign!!

Wyoming! Ya Hooo!!! Sounds like another good reason for a road trip! We clipped into a corner of Wyoming on a run to Yellowstone NP with the Utah Cobra Club a couple of years ago...Logged more than 1,000 miles in three days....Beautiful state! We'll be watching your build and cheering you on....Get ready for some fun!

Welcome Willy, as the next to the newest coupe builder I'm sure we will have some similar experiences. My coupe is due to be delivered the first week of August or so.

We began our build in May and we are in Central Florida. Anybody close to us?
How do you prep the underside of the body on a Gen 2 body.

What are you going to do with the underside? Nothing really happens for prep if your undercoating, there is no release wax on the underside but it will need to be scothchbright padded or sanded to give it some tooth if your going to apply paint or even skim it with bodyfiller. Lots o work to skim the bonnet but it sure looks nice when its smooth and painted under there, adds a bit of weight too though...HTH Steven
