New mini A/C unit, might fit roadsters, 818, etc.

I just found this mini a/c unit without heat, on the southern air website, might have promise for our cars.

That is very small. The Vintage Air Mini Gen 2 works way better IMO in an 818 and you get heat and defrost as well. The North racecar unit for the roadster is about the same size and has heat and defrost as well. Though at just $250 that does seem like a alternative for some folks.

Check out Jeg's performance too.
They are now offering two systems that utilize ELECTRIC A/C COMPRESSORS.
The units draw between 25-35 amps and are made in the U.S.A.
Might be an easy option for adding A/C post build.

I'm skeptical about it's effectiveness. In a conventional compressor/condenser/evaporator system you'll see an evaporator surface temperature of around 35 degrees which when blended with 85 degree ambient air results in a vent discharge temp of 40-ish degrees. Specifications relating to this are conspicuously absent from the product information.

I most certainly agree and have made a living out of being skeptical for over 30 years; however, this is an option that may actually work.
The fact that the AC in my old motor-home was 12-volt DC electric along with the refrigerator is why it caught my eye.
While I didn't get a spec sheet on the camper's AC or fridge because they both worked fine, I agree that a spec sheet for this unit would go a long way.

With ambient temperatures approaching 110 here in AZ in the summer, I am wondering if this little unit might put out balmy 65 degree air! I admit that it is far better than 110, but still won't do much. I will be interested to hear if anyone has used any of the various options, and with what level of success.

Vintage Air has some small conventional systems.
They've got several of universal, under dash and trunk mounted units.
At least they are in the business of doing after market air and have a pretty good reputation.
Heck, you might just get a spec sheet too.
