Does the complete kit come with a gas tank shield?

Does the complete kit come with a gas tank shield? I'm ordering stuff online and don't remember seeing a shield, unless it shipped inside the gas tank box, which I haven't opened...

Good question David. Are you are referring to the plastic cover that covers the gas tank?

Just over at the factory website and looked up the complete kit information for fuel system. There is NO mention of the cover listed.

Except you don't need it. My opinion and experience anyway. I know not everyone will agree though. This is my Mk4 build. My Mk3 has been on the road for 2+ seasons installed the same way. 3/4 inch self-adhesive closed cell foam on the straps and it mounts perfectly.

I have a brand new extra one.

It's included. I use them for the same reason that Ford did; to add a measure of protection from road debris to the tank.

Thanks guys. I'll assume it's in the tank box then. I appreciate the help!

Mine was on the truck without a box. The driver ask me what it was for as he hadn't seen one before. Maybe my stuff was packed a little different.
