    Graduation Time! 7471RD, "TROJAN"

I've completed construction of TROJAN. This is a 15th Anniversary Edition MKIV with quite a few mods and embellishments. The kit was purchased and started in 2011, but life circumstances led to a 3 year storage. My brother gave me permission to do the build for him and we "restarted" it in Feb. 2014. To say it came out better than expected is an understatement. I started the build to be a driver, but when my brother decided to use his TROJAN license plate, the scope of the build changed. This was basically an "Open Check" build, and I was free to build it any way I wished. Truly a best-case scenario! The power was kept reasonable to produce a balanced, fast but not dangerously fast canyon carver. It won the "Best Under Construction" award at the 2015 HB cruise-in.

    The basics are as follows:
    • 15th Anniversary kit, #2 of 15
    • FMS Crate BOSS 302, with Holley HP multiport EFI. 374fwhp
    • TKO600 with midshift kit
    • Moser 3 link, with limited slip, 355 gears
    • FFR supplied brakes
    • Front and Rear Bumpers

    Mods/Enhancements:
    • Polished engine bay and trunk. All polished panels finished with SharkHide
    • All aluminum panels either polished, or powdercoated, sometimes both (one side polished, other side powdercoated)
    • Enlarged passenger foot box
    • Stainless, polished, engine turned Nose Shroud
    • Polished, engine turned upper Radiator Shroud
    • Polished Fan Shroud
    • Hella Tri Air Horns
    • Ceramic coated Catalytic Converters
    • Gas-'N Stainless Side Pipes
    • ********** louvers, painted body color
    • Custom Dash, Polished and engine turned "ghost stripes"
    • 2 Quick Release steering wheels (Wood and Leather)
    • Custom Glove Box
    • Custom Carpet
    • ********** Door Pockets
    • Kirkey Vintage 48 seats, mounted on custom brackets
    • Polished Rear Cockpit Cubby, with engine turned back wall
    • Alpine 4 speaker Stereo system, driven via smart phone
    • Harness Bar
    • Polished, hinged and engine turned rear trunk wall
    • Polished, engine turned Trunk Block-Off Plate
    • Type 65 Coupe Tail Lights

The complete build thread can be found HERE

    Vendor list (to be added)

Without further adieu, here is TROJAN:

I didn't think I liked the color combo at first but after hearing the theme of the car and considering where you live, it has converted me over to your way of thinking. It's perfect!

    Great engine turning, Dave.

David, Truly an amazing build. I can't wait to see it up close on the street at the Huntington Beach cruz-in. Looks like a contender for Best of Show to me. Job well done my friend!

Fantastic! I echo what Doug has already said: This one has got to be a contender for Best of Show in HB 2016. I will plan to be there to watch you win.

Now, at the risk of being too soon . . . What's next for you?

There MIGHT be something in the works. I'll know definitively next week. No stealth required...

    David,

Congratulations a beautiful build ... Your brother is a very lucky man!

You need to start another and have another build thread ... so the rest of us can keep learning from the Master.

    David-

She looks terrific! I know your brother must be seriously stoked.

I really liked the extras you did; both some of the typical mods, as well as some new ones. It really has your fingerprints all over it!

Congratulations on a truly beautiful build. Very, very impressive! I look forward to your next chapter...

    Regards,

    Steve

    Very nice Dave.
Now you have to bring it to the FFR Open House. I can't win best Roadster 3 years in a row.

Dave brought this car to Serpents in the Garden in October and it looked great then not completely finished. The finishing details are amazing on this car and really can't be appreciated by the pictures alone. You will all be amazed if you are able to see this car in person next year at the Factory Five Huntington Beach Show.
