    Huntington Beach 2016

Who will be coming to the show at Huntington Beach this year? I went to the FFR website and completed the registration for this years show.

Doug, You're killing me. I've got a MKII in the shop right now I promised would be done by the HB Show but then I saw a post you made yesterday counting down the 12 weeks left. I don't think I'm going to make that deadline.

If I can get some major work done before then, including powder coat and suspension installed, I might make it.

Sorry Doug, not on this one. I'm steering but not in control of the accelerator. It's probably not going to happen. I may be able to get my car there. We'll see.

I'll be there, but as a spectator. Hope to drive my 818 there next year...

@Pete, glad you are bringing out the 818, last year there were no 818's. Also, I would love to see how you finished it out, the photo's you have posted look great.

Make it and you'll probably win best 818 by default. I'm still the only one to have one there in the last two years. None showed up last year.

Thanks Doug, but with Rob right out there it wouldn't be budget friendly to send me out. Have had a few talks with Dave about the possibility of another Factory Five magazine special issue. If that happened then maybe yes I could make the case to come out.

Wild Horses couldn't keep me away this year!! Will be a spectator, but will be BUILDER/Spectator. It's a great feeling. I likely will still be a spectator in 2017. One more son to marry off, then we are free!!! Current target is HB 2018 to officially debut the car. Lets see how this goal holds. I look forward to meeting all of you.

    Kevin
    aka "Jazzman"

QUESTION: Do I need to "register" if I am just a spectator? It appears to be just for actual cars being entered, not for spectators, but I sure didn't want to miss out.

EDIT: Found the answer to this one on my own. Just had to read to the bottom of the page. No registration required for spectators. Thanks FFR!

Pete - if your Top isn't done in time, I can probably borrow a trailer to haul your 818 over for you if you don't want to drive it across the desert. Let me know if this might be of interest to you. Hopefully it will be rendered moot by your top being completed!

    Garry,

Of course you will be welcome. All you have to do is perform the required "wax on, wax off" procedure to each entry's auto and then Sally will give you your official t-shirt, extra tall if I remember.

I want to go, but I have to figure out how people do it.
I have to show up in a truck and trailer, where so people stay, and park?

Gene...no problem with a trailer. There will be trailer parking for us at some reserved parking on the beach. At least it has been in the past. If you come early you can always find some parking for the trailer. We stay in a local motel and unhook the trailer and park the truck next to it and drive to the event in the Cobras.

Yea, yea, I just registered. You're like an old mother hen Doug. Although I would never refer to myself as being anything near "regular" I just finished it up. I wanted to have a clear picture of the weather for next Sat. and not drive home like last year as a drowned rat.

I also managed to throw a tune into the car over the weekend that should get me to the show and back. Fingers crossed!

I should expand on this: I'm behind the eight ball getting my MKIII ready. I might take some time off work this week to see if I can get it ready on time. There is a very good chance I won't have it back together in time for the show. Phil's car will be there for sure. I'll sign us both up today.

I JUST signed myself up, along with my brother.

I took off yesterday to try and catch up but ended up doing a bunch of prep work for the party, including laying down some artificial grass:

I'm going to take 1/2 day today as well as tomorrow AND Friday.

My last gasp shot at getting the MKIII road worthy again. I had thought of just patching it together but dread tearing it apart again after this weekend so I'm just going to jump in and see what I can get done.

    Here's hoping!
